Former Spurs star Luka Modric refuses to rule out a return to the Premier League

Tottenham fans will be excited with what Luka Modric has now said, with the midfielder leaving the door open to a return to the Premier League.

Modric will undoubtedly go down as one of the best players of the modern era, boasting of quite an unbelievable trophy haul over the course of his career.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner is now chasing a sensational sixth Champions League title with Real Madrid this season and continues to defy his age, turning in consistent displays at 38.

It was at Tottenham that the midfielder first made his name, arriving at White Hart Lane as a talented youngster in 2008 before going on to become one of the best in the Premier League over his four-year stay in North London.

Luka Modric refuses to rule out a Premier League return

Modric’s contract at the Santiago Bernabeu runs out this June and the Croat has now refused to rule out a move back to the Premier League.

When asked if he can see himself playing in England again, the Real Madrid star told Optus Sport: “It will be difficult at my age, but you never know.”

While I can understand why some fans find the idea of Luka’s return to be romantic, the reality is that Ange is not going to want to add a 38-year-old to his squad. The Australian is looking to build, a young, hungry and athletic squad that can challenge for major honours over the next couple of years.
