Luka Modric has admitted that he still keeps close tabs on the Premier League, particularly on how his former club, Tottenham Hotspur, get on.
It was at Tottenham that Modric first hit the limelight, developing into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League following his move from Dinamo Zagreb to White Hart Lane in 2008.
He has not looked back since leaving North London for Los Blancos in 2012, having been a key part of five Champions League-winning sides at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Modric will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest players of the modern era, having won the Ballon d’Or back in 2018, and he is still going strong at the highest level even at 38 years of age.
Luka Modric still follows Tottenham Hotspur
The Croat has now been speaking about his time at Spurs in an interview with Optus Sport, admitting that the four years he spent at N17 proved crucial in helping him develop into the player he became.
When asked if he still keeps an eye on English football, Modric responded: “When you leave the Premier League, you don’t just stop following it. So, I follow the league, especially the teams with Croatian players. And, of course, I still follow Tottenham.”

Modric was part of a special team which played some outstanding football under Redknapp and that squad genuinely seemed like they were having a lot of fun together. So it is unsurprising that the midfielder still has fond memories of his time at Tottenham.
