Tottenham linked with a move for Ferran Torres

It was reported by the print edition of The Sunday Express (page 66) two days ago that Ange Postecoglou is keen on bolstering his forward line and had set his sights on Torres.

The report explained that Barca are now ready to cash in on the striker this summer as they need to raise funds before they can make a move to sign Joao Cancelo permanently.

It was revealed that the Catalan giants want £30m for the 24-year-old, who was also alleged to be on the radars of Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Ferran Torres does not want to leave Barcelona

However, Marca now say that despite attracting interest from the Premier League, Torres has no intention of leaving Camp Nou this summer.

The report says that the striker is thinking about nothing else than succeeding at Barca once he returns from the European championship in Germany.

The former Manchester City man has allegedly ruled out a transfer as he is sure that he can become an important player for the La Liga giants next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given Barca’s financial situation, they have to make some tough decisions this summer and they could well decide to cash in on Torres if they get a lucrative offer for the striker, even though the Spaniard seemingly wants to remain at the club.

Tottenham do need a player of his type though – someone who can add real quality to the wings and also cover down the middle if needed.
