According to Fabrizio Romano, Brighton have now begun talks over a summer deal for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, who is reported to be on Tottenham’s wishlist.
Tottenham have been linked with Leeds’ Summerville
Summerville has been one of the best attackers on show across the Championship last season, with the skilful winger scoring 21 times and providing 10 assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt).
It was first reported by HITC back in April that Tottenham and several other Premier League clubs were eyeing a move for the Dutchman. The report also named the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham United as admirers of the pacy 22-year-old.
Last month, CalcioMercato (via Sport.fr) suggested that the former Feyenoord man is also on the radars of Juventus and Napoli, adding that it would take a bid of around 45m (£38.7m) to prise him away from Elland Road.
Brighton make the first move for Crysencio Summerville
Romano has now taken to social media to state that Brighton have now made the first move for Summerville, with the Seagulls said to be exploring the possibility of a deal.
The journalist adds that Liverpool and Chelsea have also been monitoring the situation of the Leeds star, with the race for his signature said to be ‘open’.
Romano tweeted: ‘Understand Brighton have made contact to start talks over Crysencio Summerville deal.
‘Not an easy one with many clubs keen but Brighton have started initial talks to explore this possibility. Liverpool and Chelsea have been monitoring him in recent months, still open race.’

It will be interesting to see if Brighton’s move for Summerville pushes Tottenham to act and get involved in the race. It sounds like a bidding war could develop for the 22-year-old over the coming weeks.
