Tottenham are interested in Michael Kayode

Kayode had an impressive debut season in Serie A last time out and the young full-back is seen by many as a potential star for the future.

It was reported by TuttoMercatoWeb earlier this week that Tottenham had been alerted by the 19-year-old’s displays at the Artemio Franchi Stadium last season.

The report explained that the Premier League side had kept an eye on the best emerging full-backs in Italy following the success of Desinty Udogie and that they are now tempted to make a move for the Viola right-back.

Fiorentina’s stance on Kayode revealed

Corriere Fiorentino point out that Raffaele Palladino’s side are now facing a dilemma as while they need to raise funds, they do not want to lose Kayode, who they expect to develop into a top player over the coming years.

The report says that Tottenham are the biggest threat in taking the teenager away from Florence after the Lilywhites ‘expressed interest’ in signing the player.

The publication adds that the Viola have demanded €40m (£33.8m) to let the youngster go and that they are expecting bids to arrive for the defender very soon.

Spurs Web Opinion

£30m-£35m is a steep price for a full-back with less than a full season under his belt at the highest level.

Perhaps Tottenham will try to knock a few million off Fiorentina’s asking price by offering to loan Kayode back to Fiorentina, just as they did with Udogie when they signed him from Udinese.
