Report: Postecoglou has rewarded teenager for impressing him at Spurs this week 

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Ange Postecoglou decided to allow Mikey Moore to train with the first-team squad through the entirety of last week after the midfielder caught the eye in training.

Moore is widely seen at Hotspur Way as the best young player in his age group, with the 16-year-old viewed by many as a potential first-team prospect.

The teenager has been in sensational form for the youth sides this season, scoring 18 goals and providing four assists in 14 games in the Under-18 Premier League (Transfermarkt).

The versatile attacker, who can play as a number eight, a winger or up front, also played an integral part last season in Tottenham winning both the Premier League Cups at U18s and U17s level for Stuart Lewis’ academy side.

At the start of this week, the youngster was spotted training with the Tottenham first-team squad (Lilywhite Rose).

Mikey Moore impresses Postecoglou at Tottenham

Gold has now revealed that the attacking midfielder was first called up to train with the senior side on Monday.

The journalist explains that it did not take long for the youngster to catch the eye of Postecoglou and his coaching staff. As a result, Moore is said to have ended up working with the Tottenham first team for the entirety of the last week.

The extended two-week break is not just an opportunity to do more work on the team’s shape and iron out the issues but also a chance for Postecoglou to take a closer look at the younger talents in the academy.

It sounds like Moore has certainly seized the opportunity and caught the eye of the Tottenham boss. One would expect the youngster to perhaps be given a chance during pre-season.
