Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to leave Spurs this summer

After being a first-team regular since joining the club in 2020, Hojbjerg has had to settle for a bit-part role under Ange Postecoglou.

The Danish international made 39 appearances for Spurs last season, but most were from the substitutes bench. He racked up 1509 minutes across the campaign, averaging at just 38 minutes per game.

He has reportedly been told he can leave Spurs this summer and a number of clubs are interested in the central midfielder (print edition of The Daily Star as relayed by Football.London).

So far, Galatasaray (Sabah via Sport Witness), Fulham (GiveMeSport), Atletico Madrid (Daily Mail), Napoli (Corriere dello Sport), and Fenerbahce (Takvim) have all been linked with Hojbjerg.

Rossoneri linked with Hojbjerg

Now, the latest to add to that list is AC Milan, with the Serie A giants described as an ‘interesting opportunity’ for the Rossoneri this summer.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport (via Football-Italia), who claim Hojbjerg is “keen to depart” Spurs, and could fit the profile Milan are looking for.

It is thought Milan want a “physical midfielder” who can protect their defence. While Hojbjerg’s agent has been in touch with a number of clubs, including Juventus and Napoli, it is Milan who have been alerted to his availability.

Apparently, the €20m (£16.9m) price tag is within Milan’s financial “parameters” and an approach could well be made in the “coming months.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Hojbjerg would be a great fit for Milan. Indeed, he would do well at any club in Serie A, as the nature of the game out in Italy definitely suits his style of play. I would imagine Hojbjerg will leave Spurs quite quickly once Euro 2024 is out of the way.
