Report: Spurs one of four clubs circling over free agent after big development

Ben Jacobs has revealed that Tottenham are currently one of four teams plotting a move for Tosin Adarabioyo after he informed Fulham of his desire to leave the club this summer.

Tottenham are expected to be in the market for a centre-back this summer and a number of outlets over recent weeks have claimed that Adarabioyo is one of the names at the top of Spurs’ wishlist (Football.London).

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Friday that the centre-back had turned down Fulham’s proposals and had decided that he would be leaving the club as a free agent this summer.

Jacobs has now relayed Romano’s information and offered an additional update on Adarabioyo’s future.

The journalist explained that the Cottagers offered ‘significantly improved terms’ to the defender but it was not enough to convince him, with the player alleged to have informed the West London club that he would be departing in June.

Jacobs adds that the 26-year-old is yet to make a decision on his next destination, with Spurs, Leicester, Newcastle and AC Milan said to have discussed a move for the player.

The advantage that the likes of Leicester and potentially Milan have is that they would be able to guarantee Adarabioyo regular game time, which Tottenham cannot. However, the London factor might potentially aid Spurs’ bid to sign the centre-back.
