Report: Striker is taking time to think after Tottenham approach

According to a report in Medio Tempo (as translated by Sport Witness), Santiago Gimenez looks favourably at the idea of moving to Tottenham Hotspur but the player and his entourage are not in a hurry to decide on his next destination.

Over the past few months, a number of reports have talked up the possibility of Spurs making a move for Gimenez this summer, and this has now been backed up by Medio Tempo, who say that the Lilywhites have already made an approach for the striker.

The report claims that besides Tottenham, the likes of Arsenal, Juventus, AC Milan and RB Leipzig have also expressed their interest in the centre-forward.

Santiago Gimenez is taking time to think on Spurs offer

It is revealed that the Feyenoord star’s agent has now flown to Europe to speak to interested clubs but the player is said to be ‘in no rush’ to decide on his next club.

The publication asserts that Spurs and Leipzig are the two options that Gimenez initially liked as he continues to consider all his options before making a decision.

It is suggested that Ange Postecoglou’s men may have an advantage over other suitors, given their spending power and their ability to offer the 23-year-old a chance to play in Europe.

Spurs Web Opinion

Gimenez and his entourage know that many more clubs are likely to enter the fray for his signature over the next few weeks. While I would not be surprised if the Mexican ends up in the Premier League, I do not think he would be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.
