Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma reveals who he thinks is the best defensive midfielder in the world

Yves Bissouma has named Manchester City star Rodri as the best defensive midfielder in world football at the moment.

Bissouma sat down with Sky Sports for the ‘word association’ segment where the Tottenham man was asked to write down the first words that came to his mind when he heard certain names.

The Mali international answered several questions, including his experience of working with Ange Postecoglou and James Maddison, and he also revealed that he idolised Yaya Toure growing up.

When asked who the best number six in the world is at the moment, the 27-year-old did not hesitate to name Rodri, pointing out that Manchester City are a different side when the Spaniard does not play.

The Spurs man points out that he is the sort of player who goes into every game believing that he is the best. He is perhaps lacking that confidence at the moment, which might be the main reason behind his loss of form.
