‘Forget that you are tired’ – Tottenham’s fittest player offers training advice

Dejan Kulusevski paid a visit to Jordbro IP last week to hand out some life advice to children, and you can see why the winger is supposedly the fittest player at Tottenham (Mitt i Haninge – via Sport Witness).

Dejan Kulusevski takes part in heart-warming event

Kulusevski spoke to a group of 10-13-year-old’s from IFK Haninge as part of an event set up by Stockholm’s football association and Vitamin Well to give kids who ordinarily wouldn’t be able to afford a training camp with big football stars the opportunity to do so.

Not only were the children given the chance to grill Kulusevski in a question and answer session, but they also trained with the Tottenham star.

Speaking on the event, Kulusevski said: “It’s fun to meet the children, train with them, answer their questions and sign autographs. I’m here because I enjoy it. You have a few hours you can give to others and do something good in everyday life.

“You meet new friends, learn to take instructions, learn to be on time and cooperate. Football is not just football – it is all of life. That there are football pitches where children can play and that they have fun here.

“And that there are good coaches who push them to be better every day and are here for them. And even if you don’t do well, you’re here, hanging out and making friends for life.”

Kulusevski is Tottenham’s fittest player for a reason

Harry Kane recently revealed that Dejan Kulusevski always used to come out on top during Tottenham’s fitness running tests in pre-season (ESPN). The Swede also covered more ground than any other Spurs player in the Premier League last season.

It seems the Spurs star has a simple mantra when it comes to training – ‘forget that you are tired’.

When asked to give the kids some advice on training hard, Kulusevski summoned a comment worthy of an Ange Postecoglou team talk.

He simply said: “Respect everyone – both teammates and opponents. Train, forget that you are tired and instead be the first to train. If you don’t practice, you can’t get good at anything in life.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Kulusevski may not have had the best season last time out, but he is clearly an absolute professional on and off the pitch, which is why I expect Postecoglou to stick with him.

If he can get back to the levels he was at during his first 6 months at Spurs, then Tottenham could have a devastating attack next season under Ange.
