Spurs have seven at international tournaments this summer

Spurs are often well-represented on the international stage, but numbers are rather thin at the two major tournaments this summer – which could be a boost to Ange Postecoglou’s pre-season.

The likes of James Maddison and Pedro Porro were shock exclusions from England and Spain respectively, while Destiny Udogie misses Italy duty through injury and Dejan Kulusevski’s Sweden failed to qualify.

Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson suffered heartbreak with a play-off penalty shootout defeat to Poland.

That being said, there is still more than enough Spurs interest to keep an eye on this summer in Germany and the United States of America.

Tottenham at Euro 2024

Guglielmo Vicario is expected to be the second-choice keeper for Italy this summer.

Micky van de Ven looks to be a starting left-back option for the Netherlands.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be looking to put himself in the shop window on Denmark duty.

Radu Dragusin will represent Romania after a slow start to his Spurs career.

Tottenham at Copa America 2024

Cristian Romero will be a key player for Argentina if they hope to bring the Copa America home.

Giovani Lo Celso is also a trusted member of the Argentina midfield, despite a lack of Tottenham minutes over the past 12 months.

Rodrigo Bentancur will be trying to stop the Argentina party as he takes to the field to represent his home nation of Uruguay.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I’m expecting Argentina to be in with a great shout of winning the Copa America this summer given the abundance of talent within their squad.

I would have said that James Maddison also had a good chance with England, but he will have to watch the Three Lions from the sidelines unfortunately following his omission.
