Alasdair Gold explains when Emerson Royal will be back from injury for Spurs

According to a report from Alasdair Gold, Emerson Royal could be back in action for Tottenham Hotspur in two weeks, which means he could play again before the season is over.

Despite a shaky start to the season, Royal hit a purple patch of form during the early part of this year.

The 24-year-old racked up 32 appearances and hit two goals (Transfermarkt) before suffering an injury to interrupt his campaign.

Upon his return to the international set-up with Brazil last month, Royal was forced off with an injury in the dying embers of Brazil’s international friendly against Morocco.

As a result, Royal had surgery on the meniscus in his left knee (The Independent).

At the time, Alasdair Gold reported that Royal would miss between three to six weeks of action for Spurs.

The player’s father insisted the recovery period would be closer to the three-week mark (Football.London).

Sure enough, on his Instagram story (16:00 – 06/04/23), Royal shared how his recovery was going, and things appeared to be looking positive.

Now, Gold has a new report for Football.London which claims we could see the Brazilian right-back on the pitch within the next two weeks.

Apparently, Royal is now “on track and could be available in time” for the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on May 6.

It is thought the club have “pencilled in” a return for either that fixture, or the following game, against Aston Villa.

Either way, it seems Royal will be back before the end of the season after “working hard” to recover.

Spurs Web Opinion

I never thought I’d be saying this at the start of the season, but it will be great to see Emerson Royal back in action.

I’m not suggesting Pedro Porro needs to be dropped or anything, but the more rotation we have on offer, the stronger the squad will be.
