Alasdair Gold says there is ‘a growing expectation’ Spurs will bid for 25-year-old

Alasdair Gold has revealed via Football.London that there is now a growing expectation that Tottenham Hotspur will launch an offer for Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.

Much to the frustration of many Spurs fans, the club are yet to strengthen in central defence, which was a problem area last season, even though we are now less than three weeks away from the start of the new campaign.

Ange Postecoglou admitted last week that he had identified central defence as a priority position to address soon after arriving at Tottenham and insisted that the club are trying to bring in a defender ‘as quickly as possible’ (Daily Mail).

Spurs expected to launch a move for Adarabioyo

Gold has now revealed that Spurs are now expected to launch an opening bid for Adarabioyo, who has just one year left on his contract at Craven Cottage.

However, the journalist explains that Spurs would have to move quickly as other clubs also have their eye on the 25-year-old.

Gold also asserts that the Fulham man is keen on completing a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

It is difficult to understand why Tottenham have not snapped up one of Tapsoba or Van de Ven yet despite being in talks for weeks with Leverkusen and Wolfsburg respectively for several weeks.

Hopefully, the Adarabioyo pursuit (presumably for the right centre-back role) does not take as long, given his contract situation and the fact that the 25-year-old is keen on the move.
