Another club are now determined to beat Spurs to Radu Dragusin – Journalist reports

According to Sky Sports Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are refusing to give up on signing Radu Dragusin, and are determined to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the transfer this month.

The transfer saga surrounding Radu Dragusin appears to be far more complicated than anyone expected when he was first linked with a move to Tottenham.

With injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero depleting Ange Postecoglou‘s options at centre-half, the pursuit of Dragusin was supposed to be rather quick and painless for Spurs.

Indeed, if you take Fabrizio Romano‘s word for it, the North London club should be completing the transfer ‘very soon’, with personal terms already agreed between Tottenham and the 21-year-old.

While Spurs were thought to be able to wrap up a deal for around £25m, a report from La Repubblica (via Napoli Magazine) stated Dragusin’s current club, Genoa, are looking for a fee closer to €35m (£30m).

Napoli want to beat Spurs to signing of Dragusin

As well as these stumbling blocks, it was reported by Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via Sport Witness) that Spurs now face competition from Serie A champions Napoli in the hunt for Dragusin’s signature.

And now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli “continue to work” at acquiring Dragusin, who they deem to be an “important” signing if they can pull it off.

Apparently, Napoli are now “pushing to try and overtake” Tottenham in the race for the highly-rated centre-back and will “insist” that they end up as the winners of that pursuit.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am still confident we will win this battle and get the transfer completed very soon, but there is no denying Napoli is an attractive proposition for any player right now. That said, it all depends on how much Dragusin wants to challenge himself in the Premier League, a factor I believe will give Spurs the upper hand.
