Ben Davies says he has ‘never seen’ Heung-min Son do one thing in training

Ben Davies has been discussing the players around him in Tottenham Hotspur training sessions, and claims Heung-min Son is so good technically, that he’s never even seen him scuff a shot.

Anyone who has ever watched Son in action will know that he is a world-class player. Spurs fans are certainly well aware of that fact after witnessing first-hand the talents of the South Korean.

Last summer, Son was handed the responsibility of being Tottenham’s new captain, and the 31-year-old has led the side admirably this season.

He also continued his goalscoring exploits, registering 17 goals and ten assists in the Premier League as Spurs secured a top-five finish and Europa League qualification.

There is an argument to be made that Son might well be one of the best finishers in the world. Indeed, when he races through on goal and is one-on-one with the keeper, the ball ends up in the back of the net more often than not — apart from that one chance against Manchester City at the end of the season.

Sonny’s finishing is always clean in Spurs training

Ben Davies has praised his teammate’s skills when it comes to finishing and his general technical ability, insisting he can’t recall ever seeing Son mishit a shot.

When asked about the level of dedication he sees around him, Davies told the Business of Sport podcast: “I’d look at someone like Heung-Min Son at Spurs. I know his background, when he was a kid he didn’t play an actual game of football, he used to practice his technique and worked incredibly hard with his Dad every day after school.

“His touch is rarely bad. I’ve never seen him scuff a shot, everything he does is clean.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s easy to believe, to be honest. Sonny is definitely one of the best finishers around, and I can only imagine what it’s like to see him close up in training day in, day out. I say it all the time, but we are very lucky to have a player like that at Spurs.
