‘Enticing’ – Journalist says Spurs could put off signing 27-year-old until next summer

Dean Jones has said in his column on GiveMeSport that while Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on landing Serhou Guirassy, the club could put off their pursuit of the Stuttgart star until the end of the season.

Guirassy continues to be heavily linked with a move to Tottenham, with several British outlets reporting over the last month that the Lilywhites are the prolific centre-forward’s preferred destination (The Sun).

Over the last few weeks, several Italian outlets have also mentioned Spurs as contenders for the 27-year-old’s signature while reporting on AC Milan’s pursuit of the player (Gazzetta dello Sport).

January move unlikely for Serhou Guirassy

Jones has now become the latest journalist to report on Tottenham’s interest in Guirassy, explaining that Ange Postecoglou’s side find the player to be quite ‘enticing’ due to his £15m release clause.

However, he backs up what we have heard from other sources by stating that the Australian coach is prioritising the addition of a wide-forward this month rather than a traditional number nine.

The journalists thus suggest that Spurs may return for the Guinea international next summer if he remains at MHPArena during the current transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be quite surprised if Guirassy was still at Stuttgart on February 1. It will be interesting to see if Spurs are tempted to act this month if the likes of Milan, Man Utd or West Ham push ahead with a move for the 27-year-old, even with the addition of Timo Werner.
