‘Final stages’ – Fabrizio Romano provides update on Tottenham’s Dragusin negotiations

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur and Genoa are currently in the final stages of their negotiations over Radu Dragusin, with the North London club hoping to conclude the deal shortly.

Over the past couple of days, the attention of much of the media has shifted from Spurs’ pursuit of Dragusin to their approach for Timo Werner.

Based on the reports over the last 24 hours, the North London club have now reached a total agreement with RB Leipzig for the transfer of the German international on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for £13m-£17.2m (David Ornstein).

Spurs to wrap up Dragusin deal

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the Dragusin deal is also very much on track, with Tottenham and Genoa said to have had ‘positive contacts’ over the weekend.

The journalist revealed that as things stand, the Lilywhites have only made verbal proposals but they are soon expected to submit an official offer and are hopeful of sealing the signing this week.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Tottenham are on the verge of securing Dragusin and Werner for relatively low transfer fees perhaps opens up the possibility of the club spending relatively big on another player towards the end of the transfer window.

Spurs may perhaps be in a position to bid £40m-£50m on Gallagher but it remains to be seen if such an offer would be enough to persuade Chelsea to sell and whether the midfielder would be open to the switch.
