Harry Redknapp predicts a ‘high-scoring’ game between Spurs and Villa this weekend

This weekend’s clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa is pretty much a must-win game for both sides, but former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp reckons the two teams will have to settle for a point each in what promises to be an enthralling encounter.

Tottenham go into this weekend’s game five points behind Aston Villa, who currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League.

However, Spurs do have a game in hand on Unai Emery’s side, so a win on Sunday would give the Lilywhites the chance to close that gap and make their extra game—a postponed tie with Chelsea—really interesting.

A win for Villa, however, would perhaps create too big a gap for Ange Postecoglou‘s men to overcome, and potentially see their Champions League dreams ended.

Harry Redknapp predicts a draw for Spurs and Villa

Offering his predictions for BetVictor, former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp admitted he loves watching Spurs play these days, but can only see them taking a point from Villa Park on Sunday.

He said: “What a fantastic game this should be, surely we’ll see goals. Aston Villa have been conceding too many of late but going forward, this side are so dangerous. They’ll be desperate to win and put some gap between them and Spurs.

“Every game Spurs play seems to be a thriller; I love watching them play! They’ve got some big games coming up, it’s going to be a fascinating end to the season. Surely we won’t see a clean sheet in this one! I’m going for a high-scoring draw.

“There’s so many players here I like but none are playing better than Ollie Watkins right now, I fancy him to score in every game he plays. Aston Villa 2 – 2 Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is such a difficult game to predict, but as Redknapp says, it should be highly entertaining, with goals at both ends. A draw won’t do either side much good, and I can see someone stealing the win late on, with both teams pushing for a winner and leaving gaps in defence. I just hope that goes Tottenham’s way.
