Harry Redknapp predicts where Tottenham will finish in the PL this season

Harry Redknapp has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will finish fourth this season, backing Ange Postecoglou’s men to string consistent results together once they have their key players back fit.

It is a miracle that Spurs find themselves just a point off the top-four spots when one considers the amount of injuries the club have had over the last few months.

The likes of Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven, James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso, Manor Solomon, Richarlison, Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic have all spent significant time on the treatment table.

While some of those names are still missing, Postecoglou now also has to make do without three of his regular starters, who have headed to the Asian Cup and African Cup of Nations, with club captain Son Heung-min being one of them.

Can Spurs finish in the Premier League top four?

Redknapp suggested that the loss of Maddison for more than two months particularly hurt his former side and backed them to finish in the Champions League places this season.

The 76-year-old told talkSPORT: “Maddison was a big loss, when he went out the side. He was absolutely playing so well. But when they get him back, the centre-halves have both been out suspended or injured.

“But when they get their full squad again, I think Tottenham can make the top four this season. I could see them finishing fourth.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I get the feeling that Ange and the Tottenham players have their eyes on a much bigger prize than a top-four finish.

Spurs are currently now six points off league leaders Liverpool and while supporters will rightly laugh off suggestions of a potential title challenge, that will be the aim internally at Hotspur Way, even though the players might not publicly admit the same.
