‘Inside my heart’ – Radu Dragusin gives his first interview as a Tottenham player

After weeks of speculation and a rollercoaster ride of negotiations, Radu Dragusin is officially a Tottenham Hotspur player, and he has now given his first interview since joining the club.

Spurs had earmarked Radu Dragusin as their primary target for the central defensive role weeks ago, and it appeared the Lilywhites would have a fairly easy path to acquiring the Romanian.

However, with competition from Bayern Munich, Dragusin was left with a big decision to make this week (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Ultimately, Dragusin chose Tottenham and it is thought the 21-year-old was swayed by the desire of the club to sign him (GSP via Sport Witness).

There is excitement around the new arrival, with a report from The Athletic praising Dragusin’s attitude and suggesting this will help him settle into Ange Postecoglou‘s squad quickly. Similarly, The Times claim Dragusin’s personality and intelligence are a good fit for Spurs.

Dragusin is excited to be a Spurs player

Upon the announcement of his arrival, Dragusin gave his first interview as a Spurs player, and said: “I feel excited and very, very happy. It’s a big step for me. But it was the right step, I can say that the decision was inside my heart.

“I had a couple of talks with the coach and felt a good connection. He told me he really wants me to join them… he said that in his thinking, I am a good fit for this team. I like this kind of football, high defensive line, high aggression, a lot of space in the back to defend.

“I am a guy who gives everything for this team… I can assure that I will give 100% on the pitch… you need to work for [your dreams]. You need to give everything, every day. Without sacrifice and without work, you cannot achieve [your dreams].”
