Leicester City recruitment team ‘really like’ Tottenham player – Alasdair Gold

Alasdair Gold has said that Leicester City are particularly keen on securing Joe Rodon’s services, with the club’s recruitment department thought to admire the centre-back.

Joe Rodon looks likely to leave Tottenham

The reports linking Rodon with a return to Leeds have died down after Daniel Farke’s men failed to win promotion, with various Premier League clubs now being credited with an interest in the centre-back.

It was reported by Football.London earlier his week that all three newly promoted clubs have explored a move for the 26-year-old, with Ipswich Town said to have particularly ‘strong interest’ in the defender.

Meanwhile, Football Insider also suggested on Monday that a whole host of top-flight sides are showing interest in the Wales international.

The outlet confirmed that the centre-back does not have a future at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou and that the North London club would be willing to accept around £10m for him.

Leicester City like the look of Joe Rodon

Gold has now offered a more comprehensive update on Rodon’s future, stating that Leicester are particularly keen on the centre-back.

He suggested that the Tottenham man might be even more likely to head to King Power Stadium if Graham Potter takes over, given that the pair have worked together at the Liberty Stadium in the past.

The journalist said on Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast about Rodon: “All three promoted clubs are interested in him: Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton. Leicester, as we said earlier, don’t have a manager at this moment in time, however, their recruitment team really like him.

“If it was [Graham] Potter to come in, Potter worked with him at Swansea before, so I would imagine he would be pretty happy with that as a potential purchase as well.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Kieran McKenna is also a big fan of Rodon, which is why a move to Ipswich remains quite likely for the centre-back.

I suspect that the defender will make a decision based on where he is more likely to get regular stars next season.
