Ederson has ruled Tottenham Hotspur out of the race for the Premier League title, insisting that one of Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal will be the league champions at the end of the season.
Mathematically, Spurs are certainly not out of the title race at the moment, sitting just seven points behind league leaders Liverpool with 15 games left to go.
However, even the most optimistic of Tottenham fans would concede that Ange Postecoglou’s men are not quite ready to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
The chinks in Spurs’ armour were once again exposed at Goodison Park on Saturday, with the Lilywhites struggling to cope with the physicality of Everton and conceding a late goal yet again.
Are Tottenham now in a race for fourth?
The two dropped points meant that Aston Villa leapfrogged Tottenham into fourth place and Ederson believes that even though both the Spurs and the Villans are playing good football, neither are capable of winning the title.
The Man City number one said (via The Express): “It’s easy to list the contenders for the Premier League. There’s Liverpool, us, Arsenal, Tottenham who started the season very well, playing great football, but there are also other teams having great campaigns.
“Aston Villa are playing very well, playing good football with a great manager and great players. But I think that the title race is between Liverpool, City and Arsenal. I think they are the three favourites to win the Premier League.”

Most Spurs fans will accept that a top-four finish would represent a successful season for the club but internally at Hotspur Way, Postecoglou and the players would have their eyes on the big prize, which is why the two dropped points against the Toffees will hurt them badly.
