Manager warns that Spurs player could ‘go to another top team’ if he doesn’t start playing

Romanian manager and pundit Laurentiu Reghecampf has called on Radu Dragusin to establish himself as a commanding leader of the Romanian national side and suggested that the centre-back will still be wanted by other top sides if things do not work well for him at Spurs.

Radu Dragusin prepares for the Euros with Romania

Dragusin has had a difficult first six months at Tottenham since his switch from Genoa in January, with the 22-year-old struggling to displace Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven from the starting eleven.

However, he did finish the season strongly, starting the club’s last two Premier League games against Manchester City and Sheffield United, and delivering solid displays in both matches.

The centre-back will hope to get many more opportunities next season, with Spurs back in the Europa League.

In the meantime, Dragusin has the small matter of the Euros coming up, with the Tottenham man being crucial to Romania’s hopes of getting out of their group and going far in the competition.

Dragusin urged to become a leader for Romania

Reghecampf has now said that he would like to see the Spurs star become more assertive for his national side.

The former FCSB boss Laurentiu Reghecampf told Sport.ro about Dragusin: “I would like him to establish himself much more in the national team, that is, his appearances to be much more convincing. To be a leader, you don’t have to talk.

“To establish himself in England, yes I’m sure he will or if not he will go to another top team, also in a strong championship, he has reached a level where he can choose and reach good teams.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite the few rumours from Italy and the murmurs coming from Romania, there is no chance that Tottenham would consider offloading Dragusin next season.

With Postecoglou harbouring a desire to compete on all four fronts next season, the 22-year-old will have an important role to play.
