Tottenham officially announced this morning that four senior players had parted ways with the club following the end of their respective contracts – Tanganga, Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic.

Tanganga came through the Spurs academy and first impressed during a pre-season match against Juventus in which he impressively man-marked Cristiano Ronaldo.

The central defender has been at Tottenham since the age of 9, but enjoyed a successful loan spell at Millwall during the second half of the season and is now ready for the next step in his football journey.

Tanganga took to Instagram and wrote: ‘My 15-year journey with Tottenham has come to an end.

‘From being a 9-year-old kid with a dream to making my first professional debut, working under world-class managers, playing alongside exceptional players who have become brothers to me, playing for passionate, supportive fans…

‘I am grateful to everybody who gave me the opportunity to live out my dreams and supported me throughout my journey. The fans, the staff, the club itself…thank you. With that being said, I look forward to the journey ahead & excited to see where it takes me.’

Ryan Sessegnon waves goodbye to the Tottenham fans

Ryan Sessegnon’s Tottenham career was ravaged by injury ever since he joined in 2019, but the left-back still leaves with fond memories of his time in North London.

He wrote: ‘Spurs. Thank you. I would like to thank everyone associated with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

‘I joined at 19 and have met some very special people along the way that have supported me and guided me. From my teammates to the backroom staff and my coaches, thank you! I’ve got memories and friends for life!

‘From making my debut to scoring in the Champions League, I’ll always cherish these moments. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out the way I or the club wanted during my time here. It broke my heart that I couldn’t play in front of you a lot more.

‘I want to wish you all the best for the future. Thank you. Sess.’
