Player’s agents deny having spoken to anyone about a Tottenham exit

Giovani Lo Celso’s agent has insisted that he has not spoken with any club regarding a potential late move for his client.

Lo Celso was one of Tottenham’s best performers in pre-season and the Argentine impressed when he came off the bench for his first appearance of the season against Bournemouth on Saturday.

However, there continues to be plenty of speculation over the 27-year-old’s future, with reports over the last week indicating that Barcelona (Javi Miguel) and Real Betis (Rudy Galetti) will both explore late deals for the player.

A couple of days ago,  Il Mattino even asserted that Napoli had begun talks with Spurs over signing Lo Celso on an initial loan deal for a loan fee of €4m (£3.4m), with an option to sign him permanently for €14m (£12m).

The publication asserted that the two clubs could reach a full agreement before the transfer window shuts on Friday night.

However, Radio Punto Nuovo have now allegedly got in touch with the Tottenham man’s entourage, who have denied any talks over a late departure from the North London club.

The publication quotes Lo Celso’s representative as saying about a potential switch to Naples: “No, we haven’t spoken to anyone.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I certainly think Tottenham would be willing to listen to offers for Lo Celso in the final few days of the transfer window but I see no reason why the Lilywhites would consider loaning him out again this season.

If Spurs only receive loan offers for the 27-year-old, they would probably be happy to keep him around as a squad player, particularly since the midfielder himself appears happy to stay and fight for his place.
