Postecoglou makes ‘special’ promise to Spurs fans about doing things differently

Ange Postecoglou has been talking about his approach to bringing success to Tottenham Hotspur, and has promised fans he will make the necessary changes to make that happen.

After a dismal 2022/23 campaign which saw Spurs slump to an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League, crash out of every cup competition, and go lose their permanent manager in Antonio Conte, it’s safe to say Tottenham fans needed a lift this summer.

While the appointment of Ange Postecoglou was met with scepticism initially, there is a renewed sense of optimism around the club now.

A lot of that is owed to how the Australian coach has approached his new role so far, and the style of football he has promised supporters he will bring to North London.

With attacking football, lots of goals, and a more positive man-management approach being introduced, Spurs fans are now quietly hopeful that Postecoglou could be the man to bring success to the club after 15 years without a trophy.

Ange Postecoglou wants to achieve something special

Speaking to the press (via Football Daily) during Tottenham’s pre-season tour in Asia, Postecoglou revealed how he plans to bring the best out of his new club.

He said: “There’s an opportunity here to do something special. I love those kind of challenges and that’s what I will try and deliver over the next period, for as long as I am here.

“I’ll do things differently because I’m different to every other manager. We are all different in one way or another, we all do things our own way.

“There’s no right or wrong in these kind of things. Every person brings their own abilities and the way they do things in their work.

“I will obviously be different to other managers in the past and hopefully I can find the secret that this club requires to have success.”

Who is to say that someone like Ange Postecoglou, who comes with less of an ego but just as much experience as a winner, can’t be the perfect man for the job here at Spurs?
