Pundit names the one man he feels sorry for at Spurs during this transfer window

Darren Ambrose has admitted that he feels sorry for Ange Postecoglou, given that the Australian still does not have clarity over Harry Kane’s future.

The speculation over Kane’s future has rumbled on since the start of the summer but there now appears to be a potential end in sight, with Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe holding talks with Daniel Levy over the England captain (Telegraph).

Postecoglou has generally been quite diplomatic when asked about the speculation over the future of his star striker but the Australian did admit a couple of weeks ago that he is not relaxed about the situation and it would be in everyone’s interest if it is resolved quickly (Independent).

Postecoglou is stuck in a sorry situation at Spurs

It remains to be seen whether the meeting between Levy and the Bayern hierarchy will provide a definitive answer on Kane’s future but Ambrose admitted that he is bored of the reports and wants a quick resolution to the matter so that Postecoglou can start planning for the season ahead.

The pundit told talkSPORT: “It is getting a little bit boring now that this situation is still arising.

“And then as a pundit myself, we’re talking about this again, this situation. Now the person I do feel sorry for, you’ve mentioned him, Ange Postecoglou.

“He wants to know what is going on with his number nine, with his star player. Now the fact that Daniel Levy is meeting Bayern Munich means something is happening.”

With the Bayern officials having already met with the Tottenham hierarchy on a couple of occasions, both parties would likely be aware of each other’s stance.

So, the likelihood is that an agreement will be struck in the latest meeting as neither club would want the negotiations to drag on for much longer.
