Pundit urges Tottenham to sign ‘proven winner’ from Man City this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make a signing this summer, which is frustrating Darren Ambrose, but the former Crystal Palace man likes the idea of the Lilywhites making a move for one Manchester City star.

Could Tottenham sign Jack Grealish?

It is thought Spurs are in the market for a new winger, and with Jack Grealish left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad, there is a chance he may be looking for an opportunity to move on from City and prove himself.

If so, Spurs should snap him up. That’s the opinion of Tottenham fan, Majestic, and TalkSPORT pundit, Darren Ambrose.

Discussing potential signings, Majestic said: “Do you know who I would even say. Jack Grealish. Someone who isn’t afraid. Imagine him linking up with Maddison. Just the connection and the chemistry there.”

“Proven winner,” Ambrose replied. “You have Jack Grealish and James Maddison in the same team. Our kit would be sponsored by Louis Vuitton or something,” he joked.

Tottenham need reinforcements this summer

Ambrose then added: “But I agree. Spurs need players and it’s frustrating waking up every day and not seeing anyone linked.”

Grealish and Maddison were both snubbed by Gareth Southgate, despite being a part of the provisional England squad ahead of the European Championships in Germany. The pair are also known to be good friends outside of football.

It was a disappointing campaign for Grealish in 2023/24, who was nudged to the peripheries of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City squad. He played 36 times last season, scoring three goals and registering three assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

I wouldn’t worry about the fact we haven’t signed anyone yet, and I don’t know what Ambrose means about Spurs not being linked to anyone as there are constant rumours.

As for Grealish, yes, he would be an interesting signing, and I’d be very curious to see his price tag.
