Report: Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle all explored moves for same defender

Galatasaray have decided not to sell rumoured Tottenham target Sacha Boey this summer, according to Turkish news outlet Aksam,

Boey has emerged as one of the most impressive right-backs in Turkish football since making the switch to Galatasaray from Ligue 1 outfit Rennes two years ago.

Tottenham’s interest in the Frenchman first came to light earlier this month when journalist Zeki Uzundurukan told Transfer Plus (06/07/23 via GS Gazete) that the Lilywhites were monitoring the full-back.

Uzundurukan stated that Galatasaray vice president Erden Timur even recently travelled to London and spoke to Spurs about their interest in the player.

Boey set to stay at Galatasaray despite Spurs links

According to Aksam’s latest update, it is not just Tottenham who have expressed an interest in the former Rennes star, but the likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Newcastle United are also said to have explored moves for the defender.

However, the outlet adds that despite several European heavyweights lining up to sign Boey, Galatasaray have now ruled out the possibility of the right-back leaving the club this summer.

It appears as if Postecoglou is going to give Pedro Porro an opportunity to prove himself in the inverted right-back role.

With Emerson Royal and Djed Spence as backups to the Spaianrd, I do not see Spurs entering the market for a right-back this summer.
