Report: Atalanta make stance clear amid Tottenham approach for Ederson

According to TuttoJuve, Atalanta have told Tottenham and the other clubs interested in Ederson that the midfielder will cost at least €40m (£34m).

Over the past couple of months, a number of outlets have named Ederson as one of the top defensive midfield options on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

The latest such report came from The Daily Mirror, who claimed last week that Spurs’ pursuit of the 24-year-old has got a lot harder after Atalanta won the Europa League.

It was explained that the Serie A club would receive a financial boost after qualifying for the Champions League, thus meaning that they are less desperate to sell their main assets.

The outlet also added that since Teun Koopmeiners is expected to leave Bergamo, the club would not want to further weaken themselves by also selling Ederson.

Atalanta want £34m for Ederson this summer amid Spurs links

However, TuttoJuve have now suggested that Atalanta are prepared to ‘evaluate the requests’ that come their way for the Brazilian.

The report says that the midfielder’s versatility has seen him win many admirers, with Tottenham, Newcastle and Juventus said to have reached out over a deal.

However, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have allegedly made it clear to those aforementioned clubs that it would take ‘at least €40m’ (£34m) to prise Ederson away.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Ederson is available for £35m, there is no doubt that Tottenham and many other clubs across Europe would be all over that deal. My suspicion is that Atalanta would demand over £50m for the 24-year-old after securing Champions League qualification.
