Report: Brighton could hijack Tottenham’s move for wide-forward

TEAMtalk have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur run the risk of allowing Brighton to steal a march on them in the pursuit of Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior.

Over the last month, plenty of Italian outlets have installed Tottenham as the favourites to land Iling-Junior, who is thought to be keen on leaving Juventus in search of regular game time (TMW).

Last week, TuttoSport explained why Spurs have an advantage, stating that the Lilywhites have a good relationship with the Juve hierarchy and hope to use that to their advantage.

Brighton could make charge for Samuel Iling-Junior

TEAMtalk have now asserted that Iling-Junior is on the radars of several other Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Aston Villa and Fulham, but they allege that it is Brighton who could make the first move.

The report says that the Seagulls have held ‘a long-standing interest’ in the 20-year-old and could be tempted to press ahead with a move if Spurs do not finalise the deal.

The publication claims that Tottenham have not made ‘firm contact’ over a deal for Iling-Junior so far and run the risk of missing out on the Chelsea academy graduate if they wait too long.

TEAMtalk add that the Bianconeri are willing to offload the winger for £15m and plan on reinvesting that money into a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo de Paul.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham were never going to have a free run at Iling-Junior, given his potential and his homegrown status. It is far from surprising to hear that the likes of Brighton, Villa and Newcastle are also keen.

Perhaps Postecoglou would be able to persuade the 20-year-old that a move to N17 would be the best step for his career, given the young team that he is building at Spurs.
