Report: Club are in talks with Spurs over double-deal for centre-back and midfielder

ABC Sevilla have claimed that Real Betis sporting director Ramon Planes and their CEO Ramon Alarcon are currently in England exploring a double deal for Davison Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso.

The report reveals that Planes and Alarcon have travelled to the UK as part of Betis‘ pre-season tour, with the Spanish side having played Middlesbrough on Sunday in a friendly and preparing to take on Burnley on Friday.

It is explained that the pair are using the trip as an opportunity to meet with various clubs, agents and intermediaries to discuss transfer business, which is also thought to include conversations with Tottenham.

Real Betis are interested in Lo Celso and Sanchez

The publication states that Spurs have ‘already been notified’ by Betis about their interest in re-signing Giovani Lo Celso on loan, but it is said that the operation is likely to be pushed back until the end of the transfer window.

The Spanish club are also reportedly eyeing a move for Sanchez, who they have allegedly identified as a potential replacement for Luiz Felipe, who could be on his way to West Ham United this summer.

ABC Sevilla claim that the Betis hierarchy believe they can sign the Colombian for a cut-price fee, given that he only has a year left to run on his contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

The suggestion in this report that the Lo Celso operation might not go through until the end of the transfer window, could perhaps indicate that Postecoglou wants to take a closer look at the Argentine during pre-season.

On the other hand, it seems pretty clear that the writing is now on the wall for Sanchez, who appears likely to be the next player out of the door.
