Report: Club offer Tottenham just £429k more in second bid for player

Turkish side Galatasaray are set to return to Tottenham Hotspur with a new and slightly improved offer for Tanguy Ndombele as they step up their pursuit of the Frenchman.

This summer appears to be the final chance for Ndombele to save his Tottenham career. The midfielder has failed to establish himself in North London since joining in 2019 but could yet succeed under new coach Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian is thought to be giving all of his squad the opportunity to impress, and there is optimism that Spurs’ record signing could finally fulfil his potential.

So far during pre-season, there have been signs that Ndombele’s attitude in training has been positive (Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast).

However, nothing is certain, and there is still a very good chance Ndombele could move on this summer. As it stands, Galatasaray appear to be the leading suitors for the 26-year-old but recently had an offer rejected by Spurs (Ertan Suzgun).

Galatasaray have a new offer for Ndombele

Now the Turkish giants are preparing a new bid for Ndombele which offers a slight improvement on their previous attempt.

That’s according to a new report from Dogru Haber, which claims Galatasaray “will present” a new proposition to Spurs. The improved offer is thought to be €500k (£429k) higher than their previous €8m (£6.87m) bid.

The initial offer from Galatasaray was to be paid over four years, while the new package is believed to “reduce the number of years” for the payment schedule.

Galatasaray will now “wait for the answer” from Tottenham and are thought to be “stepping up their initiatives” to acquire the playmaker this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

We are certainly going to have to take a big hit on the fee we paid for Ndombele if we want to sell him, but these offers from Galatasaray are insultingly low. I would think – and hope – that Spurs will demand at least £15-20m to sell Ndombele.
