Report: Fabio Paratici is back working with Tottenham again this month

With the transfer market open once more, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to complete at least two signings this month, and it turns out the club will have the assistance of Fabio Paratici throughout the month.

Fabio Paratici joined Spurs as director of football in the summer of 2021 and the Italian has overseen multiple big transfers over the years. Indeed, Spurs fans can thank Paratici for the arrivals of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Sarr, and Destiny Udogie.

However, Paratici was found guilty of being involved in the financial scandal at Juventus and was handed a 30-month global ban from being involved in football back in April 2023. He left his post at Tottenham shortly after.

Since then, however, a loophole in Paratici’s suspension has allowed him to act on a consultancy basis within the game, something he had taken advantage of in order to help Tottenham’s recruitment through the summer and has continued to operate behind the scenes (Football Insider).

Fabio Paratici is back at Spurs this month

Now, it seems more can be read into Paratici’s appearances at various games this season, as a report from the Telegraph indicates the 51-year-old is back at Spurs this month and will “continue to assist” with deals throughout the January transfer window.

That is despite the arrivals of Scott Munn—Tottenham’s new chief football officer—and Johan Lange—the club’s technical director. It is said Paratici has been utilised on an “ad-hoc consultancy basis” already and that will continue this month.

However, it is thought there will be “no impact” on the work of Munn, and the Italian will “liaise” with Lange.

Well, this will come as a surprise to no one. Despite his alleged involvement in some fairly dodgy business, you cannot deny that Paratici is a master when it comes to finding talented players, particularly from the Italian league, and I’m sure that will come in handy this month.
