Report: Fans of Championship side are ‘desperate’ to sign Tottenham player

Leeds United fans are really enjoying Joe Rodon’s involvement in their side’s promotion push this season, and are very keen to see the Welshman make his stay there permanent in the summer.

Ever since joining Tottenham back in 2020, Rodon has struggled to assert himself under a number of different managers and has never held down a regular spot in the first team.

He spent last season on loan with French side Rennes, but didn’t do enough to secure a permanent move across the channel in the summer.

Having not done enough to prove himself worthy of a spot in Ange Postecoglou‘s squad this season, the central defender was loaned out to Championship side Leeds United, and he’s absolutely thrived for the Yorkshire outfit this year.

Rodon has featured 27 times for Leeds this term (Transfermarkt) and has been earning plaudits for the impact he has had in laying a strong foundation at the back for the promotion-chasing side.

Leeds fans want Joe Rodon to stay

According to the latest from Football.London, Rodon has impressed the Leeds fans so much that they are crying out for him to remain with the club beyond the terms of his current loan agreement.

After helping Leeds to back-to-back clean sheets, and picking up an 8 out of 10 rating from Leeds Live for his role in the win over Bristol City, that noise for a permanent deal to be found is getting louder.

The report from Football.London reveals Leeds fans “are desperate” for the club to keep hold of Rodon, but the problem is, there was “no option in their original loan agreement to do so.”

Leeds will now have to negotiate a deal with Spurs, while fighting off any other interest from potential suitors. It is believed Rodon’s displays have “increased his value and the interest in his services.”

I can totally see Rodon signing for Leeds permanently, especially if they get promoted. And good on him if he does. He seems to have really found a home there and it’s great that he’s getting such high praise every week.
