Galatasaray are after another Tottenham player

Galatasaray are attempting to continue their pattern of Premier League shopping which has led to their progression in recent years with recent additions of note being Wilfred Zaha as well as former Spurs players Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez.

BeIN Sports has reported that Manchester United will be the next club to receive contact from Galatasaray with Aaron Wan-Bissaka being ‘the number one candidate at Galatasaray’ as they search for a new right-back as the club seek to fill the void Sacha Boey left when he departed for Bayern Munich in January.

Pierre Emile Hojbjerg has been a subject of interest for Galatasary too, with Turkish media outlet, Takvim, claiming that Galatasary are ‘waiting for the final decision of Hojbjerg, whom they want to add to their squad’.

Although, it seems as though Hojbjerg isn’t the only Tottenham midfielder that’s attracting interest from the yellow-reds.

Bentancur is someone Galatasaray are interested in

Aspor in Turkey are reporting that Galatasary are seeking a ‘loan + buy option for this transfer’. The report continues claiming that Tottenham will consider a sale ‘if a good offer comes in’ with the Uruguayan’s deal expiring in two years.

Bentancur is reportedly ‘extremely positive about the interest of Galatasaray’ with claims that the factor of fellow Uruguayans, Lucas Torrieria and Fernando Muslera, is a larger attraction for Bentancur, although Turkish reports are characteristically optimistic about their teams in the media, especially regarding transfers.

The former Juventus and Boca Juniors midfielder has been involved in a large media stir recently due to his comments in an interview when he was asked about captain Heung Min-Son to which he suggested that all Koreans ‘look the same’.

Kick It Out, Tottenham, Son and Bentancur himself have all since released statements on the situation, condemning the 26-year-old’s actions, with the club stating, ‘We fully support that our captain Sonny feels that he can draw a line under the incident and that the team can focus on the new season ahead’. The recent controversial remarks that have been widely, and rightly so, criticised, make Bentancur perhaps more likely to leave the club, especially if Spurs do decide to act upon their reported interest in Connor Gallagher.

However, with two years remaining on his deal and the controversy being acknowledged and responded to by Heung Min-Son, it seems unlikely that Bentancur would be so willing to step out of Europe’s so-called ‘top five leagues’ at the age of 26.
