Report: How Harry Kane feels about upcoming meeting with Postecoglou at Spurs

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, Harry Kane would be happy to give Ange Postecoglou a chance to prove himself, with the striker not being as desperate to leave Tottenham as he was back in 2021.

Over the last few days, it has been reported by multiple sources, including Alasdair Gold (Football.London) that Postecoglou is expected to have a chat with Kane about his future soon.

The journalist explained that the Tottenham hierarchy are hopeful that the Australian can get the striker excited about playing under him in a team that will create chances galore next season.

A similar claim was also made by Ben Jacobs recently, with the journalist suggesting that Postecoglou is expected to stress to the England captain that he sees him as an important part of his plans for the upcoming season.

Crooks has now explained that not a lot is riding on the talk between the new Spurs head coach and Kane, with the striker open to seeing what the new project at the North London club has in store.

The journalist told talkSPORT: “I don’t think Tottenham feel they need showdown talks this summer with Harry Kane because I don’t think it’s a similar scenario to a year ago when he was hankering for that move to Manchester City.

“Of course, he went AWOL effectively from training, didn’t report for duty on time.

“Spurs aren’t predicting or envisaging a repeat of that, I think Harry Kane is happy to give Ange Postecoglou the chance to prove himself and to prove that this Tottenham revolution can move the club forward.

“But, according to our sources in Germany, Bayern Munich aren’t giving up the fight just yet.

“They are readying a big money move for Harry Kane but I think it would take a huge offer to persuade Daniel Levy to cash in on the England captain.”

Convincing Kane to stay will not be difficult as the striker is in a strong position and would know that he can leave on a free next summer.

The question Tottenham would have to consider is whether they want to take a gamble and allow the 29-year-old to run into the final year of his deal in the hope that Postecoglou would somehow win him over.
