Spurs get small loan fee for Japhet Tanganga

The publication explains that the German side will pay an initial loan fee of €1m (£860k) to Tottenham and that their option to buy the defender will become an obligation if he makes a certain number of appearances.

BBC Sport have now revealed that not only would Tanganga have to pay a certain number of matches but the club would also have to preserve their Bundesliga status for the deal to become an obligation.

In the event that Augsburg stay up and the 24-year-old plays the requisite number of matches over the course of the season, Spurs will be owed £5.1m for the centre-back
