According to a report in Oggi Sport Notizie, Tottenham Hotspur could face a challenge from Juventus in their pursuit of Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori next summer.
Calafiori has excelled since his switch to Bologna last summer, having been one of the best central defenders on show in the Italian top flight so far this season.
The 21-year-old’s displays have allegedly caught Tottenham’s attention, with some Italian outlets revealing at the start of January that the Lilywhites had sought information about the player’s availability (Il Resto Del Carlino via Tutto Bologna Web).
The defender ended up staying put at Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in January and it has now emerged that Spurs may have to deal with plenty of competition if they reignite their interest in the player next summer.
Juventus and Spurs are both keen on Calafiori
Oggi Sport Notizie have said that the main competition could come from the Old Lady, who are now plotting a summer move for Calafiori, holding ‘very strong’ interest in the former Basel star.
The report says that the Bianconeri have identified the Bologna star as a replacement for Alex Sandro, who is expected to exit Turin at the end of the season.
It is alleged that Juve will continue to keep a close eye on Calafiori’s performances but they are not thought to be the player’s only admirers, with Inter Milan and AC Milan also keeping abreast of the defender’s situation.

Tottenham would not have any trouble blowing Juve, Inter and Milan out of the water financially but it remains to be seen if Calafiori will be keen on the idea of moving to the North London side, with Postecoglou having three top centre-backs at his disposal already.
