Tottenham could be a potential destination for the Italian

SportMediaSet via CalcioNapoli24 have claimed that their editorial team have revealed live on air that Chiesa will leave Italy and will instead head to the Premier League where is he on the verge of a move tot the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Their editorial team said: Chiesa will say goodbye to Italy, he won’t go to Roma or Napoli but to the Premier League. He is close to Tottenham for €30-35m (£25.3m – £29.5m).”

The abovementioned fee is somewhat of a surprise since the likes of Fabrizio Romano have reported Juventus are asking for a fee in the region of €25m (£21m) with add-ons.

SpursWeb Opinion

Chiesa is a good player but has not been at the same standard since he suffered an ACL injury against Roma in the Stadio Olimpico just over two years ago.

He best operates as a winger in a 4-3-3, rather than as a second forward which does not exactly fit in with what Tottenham need right now.

Tottenham need an out and out striker in the shape of Ivan Toney or Jonathan David to lead the frontline, rather than prioritising yet another winger.
