Report: ‘Money is not the problem’ for club trying to sign Tottenham player

Sportske Novosti have claimed that Hajduk Split remain keen on securing Ivan Perisic’s services in January but the two parties have some key differences regarding the length of the player’s contract. 

Perisic has been out of action with an ACL injury since September and there has been no recent update regarding the winger’s rehabilitation time frame.

Various outlets over the last couple of months have suggested that the experienced wide-man could return to his boyhood club, Hadjuk (24 Sata), with the club’s manager Mislav Karoglan himself admitting last week that he would love to add the Spurs man to his squad (Dalmatinski Portal).

Money not an issue for Ivan Perisic transfer

Sportske Novosti have now said that Hadjuk are keen on adding a left-winger to their squad and that Perisic would fit the bill, given his vast experience.

The report says that the Tottenham star is not expected to be back in action until April but this does not put off Hajduk president Luksa Jakobusic, who is keen on bringing him back to the club.

It is explained that ‘money is not the problem’ for the Croatian club in singing the 34-year-old but the two parties have been unable to agree on the details of the contract so far.

The publication suggests that Perisic only wants a deal until the end of this season but Hajduk are insistent on tying him down to a longer-term contract.

With Perisic’s contract at Spurs running out in the summer and with the winger not expected to be fit for a few more months, the North London club will likely not demand a fee for the Croat. The 34-year-old is thus likely to have a host of options to choose from as he is essentially a free agent.
