Report outlines Tottenham’s main ‘concern’ about Edmond Tapsoba pursuit

90 min have claimed that there is some concern at Tottenham about the growing interest in Edmond Tapsoba among their Premier League rivals.

Last week, we relayed a report from Fabrizio Romano, who stated that Tottenham have started working on a deal to sign Micky Van de Ven since he is a less expensive option than Tapsoba.

Subsequently, Ben Jacobs told Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel last Thursday that Spurs are also expected to face a lot of competition for Tapsoba’s services, which is why they are more likely to pursue the Wolfsburg man.

Premier League rivals are also eyeing Taposba

This has now been backed up by 90 min, who state that although Spurs are in discussions with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for the 24-year-old, they are concerned about the deal.

This is because the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United have a growing interest in the Burkina Faso international.

The publication explains that Tottenham are thus ‘edging closer’ to concluding a deal for Van de Ven.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tapsoba was always going to be the harder one to get among the two.

I do wonder if Tottenham’s urgency in bringing in a left-sided centre-back before the pre-season tour to Asia and Australia has contributed to the club seemingly turning their attention away from the Leverkusen man towards the Wolfsburg defender.
