According to The Times, Sergio Reguilon is now attracting interest from English as well as Spanish clubs.
Reguilon’s loan spell at Manchester United was by no means a disaster, with the left-back’s stock arguably rising after he proved a reasonably competent deputy for Luke Shaw, with the Spaniard making a total of 12 appearances at Old Trafford (Transfermarkt).
News first broke a couple of days ago that the 27-year-old was set to return to Spurs after the Manchester club activated the break clause in his loan deal (The Athletic).
Fabrizio Romano then reported on Tuesday that Reguilon is keen to leave Spurs this month in search of regular game time, revealing that the player is of interest to Borussia Dortmund.
Interest growing in Sergio Reguilon at Tottenham
The Times have now said that the left-back is not likely to stay at Tottenham, with Ange Postecoglou’s men said to be keen on either selling him or sending him back out on loan.
The publication claims that Bournemouth, Sevilla and Villarreal have all expressed in Reguilon’s services but they do not specify if those clubs want to sign the defender on a temporary or permanent deal.
Spurs Web Opinion
The likes of Sevilla and Villarreal are unlikely to be able to pay any significant transfer fee for Reguilon.
If Spurs wish to offload the 27-year-old permanently, it would have to be to another Premier League side. The most likely outcome is another loan move for the left-back, who might be keen on returning to Spain.
