Report: Premier League club make contact with Spurs regarding Eric Dier

Football Transfers have claimed that West Ham United have now reached out to Tottenham Hotspur regarding a deal to sign Eric Dier.

Dier only has six months left on his contract at Tottenham and is seemingly not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans, with several outlets indicating over the last few weeks that the Lilywhites are keen to move on the 29-year-old in January (Football Insider).

According to Football Transfers, a move across London to West Ham could open up for the Spurs star, with the Hammers now said to have made a move for the player.

West Ham are looking at Tottenham’s Eric Dier

The report says that David Moyes is keen on adding a defender with Premier League experience to his squad and Dier fits the bill, given his attributes and his versatility.

It is alleged that the West Ham boss is a fan of the England international and views him in a similar mould to Harry Maguire, whom the East London club came close to signing last summer.

The publication adds that Dier has a relationship with Moyes, dating back to when the 29-year-old spent a season on loan at Goodison Park from Sporting Lisbon back in 2011.

Spurs Web Opinion

I get the feeling that Dier is keen to leave the Premier League and have an adventure abroad, which is why wants to run his contract down and leave on a free agent.

So, I would not be surprised if he decides to turn down a switch to West Ham, perhaps in the hope of moving to Serie A or returning to Sporting.
