Report: Premier League rivals want to beat Spurs to two different summer targets

Fabrizio Romano has said that Newcastle United are keen to win the race for both Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo this summer.

Both Kelly and Adarabioyo are expected to leave Bournemouth and Fulham respectively on free transfers this summer when their contracts end in June.

Tottenham are reportedly in the market for a centre-half this summer, with the Cherries and the Cottagers stars thought to be on the club’s wishlist (Football.London).

Over the last week, various outlets have handed Spurs a blow by suggesting that Kelly has already agreed terms with Newcastle over a summer move (Foot Mercato).

Newcastle want both Kelly and Adarabioyo

Romano has now taken to social media to insist that the Magpies want to secure the signatures of both English centre-backs.

The journalist says that Kelly is the ‘priority target’ for Eddie Howe’s men and they are now ‘optimistic’ that they will strike a deal for the 26-year-old early in the transfer window.

He adds that Newcastle’s talks with Adarabioyo are also progressing well at the moment as the defender looks set to seal a move away from Craven Cottage.

Spurs Web Opinion

It was always clear that Newcastle would have a big advantage over Spurs in the race for Kelly and Adarabioyo as Postecoglou is in no position to make promises to either player regarding game time.

Any centre-back who Tottenham are interested in would think twice about the move, given the struggles Radu Dragusin has had since arriving at N17.
