Report reveals how long Richarlison will be out injured after scan results

Football London have reported that Richarlison is expected to be out for a period of five to six weeks following the hamstring injury he picked up at the World Cup.

The Brazilian picked up the problem in the warm-up before his country’s quarter-final match against Croatia, which they ended up losing. However, Richarlison still decided to make himself available for the game and played 84 minutes in total before being taken off.

The Tottenham forward reported back to Hotspur Way on Monday to get a scan and those results have now come back, revealing he is expected to be sidelined for over a month.

This comes as a huge blow to Tottenham as they are just nine days away from restarting the season on Boxing Day against Brentford, with a busy winter fixture schedule to come.

This could also put more pressure on the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son to make fast returns from the World Cup, with little rotational opportunity for Antonio Conte.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham invested heavily in the front line with the signing of Richarlison in the summer, but they have been unable to keep all four top-class forwards fit at the same time. I suppose, without that reinforcement, they would have been in real trouble but it is frustrating nonetheless.
