According to Bolavip, Alejo Veliz’s representatives have ruled out the possibility of the striker returning to an Argentinean club on loan next summer.
Veliz’s loan spell proved to be a disaster for the striker and for Spurs, with the youngster hardly getting a look in at the La Liga side over the last few months.
Veliz played just 29 minutes while on loan at Sevilla
Tottenham will need to be careful in ensuring that the striker now heads to a side where he is guaranteed game time and it has widely been reported over the last few weeks that work is already underway to find the right loan move for the youngster for the 2024-25 season (Football.London).
Journalist Uriel Lugt even suggested earlier this week that Spurs are exploring the possibility of sending the striker on loan to another Premier League side.
Return to Argentina ruled out for Alejo Veliz
Bolavip have now revealed that Argentine giants River Plate and Racing both made an approach for the Tottenham player over recent days.
The two clubs allegedly contacted the player’s entourage to ask about a temporary move but they were informed that a return to the South American country would not be possible.
The publication claims that Veliz’s representative made it clear to both River Plate and Racing that Tottenham’s plan is to loan out the centre-forward to another European club.
Spurs Web Opinion
We already know that Veliz can shine in the Argentine top flight, which is why it would not make much sense to loan him back to the Primera Division.
I have long believed that it would be prudent to send the 20-year-old to a Championship side as it would ensure he gets game time and would help him adapt to the intensity of English football.
We have seen the likes of Bryan Gil head out to Spain on loan and do well, but continue to struggle in the English game, Veliz would benefit from staying on these shores next season.
