Report: Serie A club think a bid of £15.2m could be enough to land Spurs player

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are confident of being able to sign Emerson Royal if they decide to push ahead with a move for the Tottenham man but the Serie A side are yet to choose their top right-back target.

AC Milan are still thinking about Emerson Royal

Even though there have been a lot of reports talking up Milan’s chances of landing Emerson, a number of sources have reported over the past week that the transfer is not really that far along.

This includes Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, who stated recently that while the Rossoneri have reached out to the Brazilian regarding a move to San Siro, they had not started negotiations with Tottenham regarding the defender.

A few days ago, CalcioMercato suggested that the Italian club could decide to prioritise a move for Aston Villa’s Matty Cash over the Spurs star.

AC Milan think Emerson is worth £15.2m

Gazzetta have now offered an update on Milan’s pursuit of Emerson, revealing that their interest in the defender is ‘genuine’.

However, it is explained that Paulo Fonseca’s men have not yet decided who their top target is and are considering a few other options apart from the 25-year-old.

The publication adds that should Milan push ahead with a move for Emerson, they are confident that they would be able to get the deal over the line.

While Tottenham are thought to value the former Real Betis man at around €20m (£17m), there is a feeling among the San Siro hierarchy that a bid of around €18m (£15.2m) would be enough to clinch the deal.

While Tottenham would want to offload the likes of Emerson, Lo Celso, Spence and Hojbjerg early in the window, they would also not be too keen on dropping their asking price for these players as the Lilywhites would be expecting more clubs to enter the race over the next few weeks.
