Report: Spurs and Newcastle could both make moves for 12-goal forward

Sport Bild have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have now emerged as contenders for the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush has plied his trade in German football since 2019 but certainly did not set the world alight during his first four years in the Bundesliga.

However, the striker has exploded into life since making the switch to Frankfurt last summer, having scored 12 goals and provided three assists across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Premier League clubs taking notice of Omar Marmoush

The Egyptian striker, who prefers operating as a number nine but can also play on either flank, is now thought to be attracting envious glances from England.

SportBild alleges that Spurs and Newcastle are ‘already looking into his performances’ and are now plotting a move for the player.

The report says that Frankfurt are calm for now since the 24-year-old is contracted to the club until 2027 but they are already preparing themselves for bids to arrive next summer.

It is alleged that the Bundesliga club would be willing to cash in on Marmoush for a fee of around €30m (€25.5m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Marmoush is the right profile of forward for Ange Postecoglou’s system, possessing quite similar attributes to Richarlison. However, there is a huge question mark over whether he is of the required quality as he has essentially only had a purple patch of six months at Deutsche Bank Park.
